Kingwood Stave Snare Drum
Kingwood gets its name from the fact that several French kings in the 17th and 18th centuries preferred this wood in the use of fine furniture. Kingwood is considered a true rosewood in the Dalbergia genus, and is among the densest of all rosewoods.
The hardware is black nickel, including the DW Mag throw off/5 position butt plate. This snare has single flange vintage-style hoops with contrasting chrome claws and tension rods. The lugs have hand-cut black leather washers. Bearing edges are 45 degrees with an 1/8” roundover and wide, shallow snare beds. It comes equipped with Evans heads and PureSound 30 strand snares.
